Momming

Momming. It’s the ultimate job title. We wear the uniforms of them all, right? It’s made me appreciate the sacrifices my own mom has made for me over the years. Here’s what momming is to me:

-It’s being a chef, waitress, and caterer….how many times do we hear the word “snack” in one day?

-It's being a nurse and giving around the clock grape flavored medicine with snot all over your shirt while loading yourself up on Emergen C praying you don’t catch the bug….because mommies don’t get breaks.

-It’s being a magician and juggling it all. I mean I could probably pull a white rabbit out of my diaper bag…along with tissues, snacks, toilet paper, socks, snacks, sunscreen, snacks, hand sanitizer, toys, and did I mention snacks? Oh and where the heck are the diapers and wipes?

-It’s spending my mid mornings with a baby in one hand and a paint brush in the other…we are the expert multitaskers

-Momming is being an educator, counselor, accountant, entertainer, referee, hairdresser (Will's hair is uneven again), taxi driver, seamstress, and maid….it’s simply doing it all. And yes, it’s hard work and stressful at times, but it’s the best paid with lots and lots of kisses, snuggles, and LOVE.

-I write this post with avocado stains on my shirt, smilie face stickers all over my arms, and toy cars in my pockets…HAPPY MOTHERS DAY!
